Spring Break 2009 Part 1

For spring break we packed up the Acadia and headed to Southern California and yes even Ace came along.
We drove to Las Vegas the first day about six hours. And Payton and Riley headed straight to the pool.

Then the next day we drove 3 1/2 hours in to Anaheim. The next day we headed to Six Flags. Six Flags ended up being are favorite park. They have more roller coasters and bigger and faster coasters that my kids love. Riley was able to ride most of the rides there were a few she was not tall enough for. The weather was warm (85 degrees).

The Next day we decided to take a break and the girls just wanted to hit the Pool.

Day One

Well today is the first day of our trip. Since we are flying standby we decided to take the earlier flight to New York, that way if we did not get on we could try the later flight. We so lucked out, there were plenty of seats and so we got put in FIRST CLASS WOW it was so nice to have those big seats and all the space. I have never flown first class and did not realize the difference. The Big Leather Chairs we so nice I need one in front of my T.V. at home. Not only did they lay back but the foot rest moved up and down and the had a massage option built in. We also each got our own little tv with plenty of movies and tv shows to watched. I caught an episode of "The Office". and you could also play games on the tv. I also found out that while everyone in coach is eating Pretzels, had a full meal with real plates and glass. I think I could get used to first class. So day one was a success we are in NY tonight and leave for the Domincan Republic at 7 a.m. (hopefully).

Riley's A-Z Book

About 2 weeks ago we went to Riley's S.E.P. At her S.E.P we were given a book that Riley had made. It was her A-Z book of things she was grateful for. On every page she drew a picture and wrote what she was thankful for. I thought this should provide some good insight into Riley. So we got home and I took her book and set down to read it. I am thinking that she probably put me in the D's or the T's makes sense right? So I open the book and start thumbing through it. I get to C and she has Cat with a cute picture. So I am thinking D is next, I turn the page and there are several things under D. There is Dog makes sense, Doll OK, and dress, huh!! Where is Dad?? Well I must be under the T's. So I keep turning. I get to M's and there is Mom how cute. Then P's there is Payton how sweet. So I get to the T's and what does she have???? Just one word "Turkeys" Ouch! So I did not make it into the book, so I thought I would share some of the things that did. So here we go. a can, Elephants, Lions, Kangaroos, Jam, Ice cubes, Horses, a Goat, Monkeys, Nuts, Popcorn, Raccoons, Snakes, Utah Utes, Viewnont, Whales, X-Rays, a Yak, and the Zoo. I heard that I almost beat out the Yak, maybe next year. She is such a funny girl who loves to tease me. I love that about her.

Revolution Speed

Since I get a lot of people coming to my blog by searching for the Revolution Speed helmet, I thought I would do a follow up to the original post. Well I finally got my sample Speed helmet and I must confess I really like it. I had Micah try it on and he thought it was awesome. He has been wearing a Revolution for about 4 years. He said the helmet was really comfortable.
On Chris Cooley's blog he calls it the "Lazy Boy of football helmets" What a great compliment from someone who spends a lot of time in a helmet.

Check out the new liner system

Well the first time I took the helmet and showed it was to a little league group. I let the President take it home to try it on his son and some of the other boys. Well I got a call the next day and he said that the boys loved the helmet. So he placed an order for 225 Revolution Speed helmets. Once people put this helmet on it sells itself. Plus it has all the technology of the original Revolution. Research done by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center found a 31% reduction in concussions in players wearing the Riddell Revolution helmet.
If anyone has any questions about the helmet feel free to email me at

The Utes Did It!!!!!

UNDEFEATED!!!!!!

WOW- What a way to end the season by going undefeated and by beating a National powerhouse like Alabama, who was ranked #1 for 5 weeks. I could not believe the way Utah took control of the game from the start. Micah was up in Park City snowboarding for a few days and staying with some friends at one of their Grandparents house so Karrie and I watched the game. Karrie is so much fun to watch a good game with because she gets so excited and in to the game. Let's just say it was not very quiet at out house that night. One of the best things about Micah playing football for the last 8 years is that Karrie has grown to like football. She will actually sit down and watch a football game with me now. I know pretty awesome. Last night we watched the Florida-Oklahoma game for example.
